Bill Maher, a steadfast voice of the liberal elite, is having a rare moment of humility. In a surprising twist, this progressive pundit admits he might have been off-target about Trump. The once rigid leftist now acknowledges the former president’s clear-eyed strategies on Iran and the economy. Finally, even some on the left are recognizing what conservatives have known all along—Trump got some things right.
When Trump took decisive action against Iran, even the staunch left had to pause. Maher, who had been a fan of Obama’s flawed nuclear deal, has now seen the light. The strike was a masterstroke that halted Iran’s nuclear ambitions in their tracks. It was a bold move that liberals claimed would ignite chaos yet delivered a blow to a looming threat. What’s more American than standing up to adversaries and showing strength when it counts?
On the economic front, Maher’s reversal is just as striking. He begrudgingly admits Trump’s tariffs didn’t doom the economy as he had so confidently predicted. Instead, these policies propelled the stock market to historic highs. Liberals wanted us to believe tariffs would bring economic ruin, but here we are with a booming market and jobs aplenty.

While Maher is beginning to wake up, his fellow liberals stay locked in misery, unable to escape their doomsday narratives. With Trump’s decisive victories and economic resurgence, their complaints sound more absurd by the day. Normalcy prevails despite their constant cries of gloom.
Let’s face it; liberals are often their own worst enemies. Maher’s dinner with Trump—something that sent the left into hysterics—highlighted their inability to engage in real dialogue. Why fear talking to someone just because you disagree? Perhaps if more liberals followed Maher’s lead in admitting faults and seeking truth, they wouldn’t be stuck in the rut of radical ideas and unpopular policies. Maybe it’s time they stopped whining and started listening. Wouldn’t that be something?
