The brazen defiance of law and common sense from left-wing leaders has struck again. This time, a coalition of Democrat-run states is racing to block the federal government from cracking down on illegal immigration fraud by hiding Medicaid data from the Trump administration. These blue states are so desperate to shield their illegal population that they are suing to keep taxpayer-funded welfare abuses under wraps. It’s a stunning example of how radical liberals put political correctness and open borders ahead of American taxpayers and the rule of law.
Medicaid is supposed to be for citizens and lawful residents, not illegal aliens who sneak across our borders and suck dry our healthcare system. Yet, under Democrat leadership, California, Illinois, New York, and a host of other leftist strongholds have twisted Medicaid into a welfare piggy bank for illegal migrants. The Trump administration finally dared to expose this deception by handing over Medicaid enrollment information to immigration officials. This move is about cracking down on waste, fraud, and abuse in a program exploding beyond control due to Democrat mismanagement and refusal to enforce immigration laws.

Predictably, these blue states cried foul, claiming federal privacy laws were violated because the administration dared to share data that would help locate illegal aliens abusing the system. Let’s be clear: the only “privacy” liberals are interested in preserving is the secrecy of their massive illegal alien giveaways. They want to keep the public in the dark so they can continue funneling billions of dollars—your hard-earned money—into policies that reward lawbreakers and punish hardworking Americans. It’s the same pattern of hypocrisy we see from these open-borders fanatics: they cry out for “compassion” while turning a blind eye to fraud and crime.
While these states scramble to protect their illegal immigrant fiefdoms, their budgets are crumbling. California, Minnesota, and Illinois are suddenly realizing that unlimited welfare for illegal aliens is a luxury they can’t afford. That’s not surprising when you consider millions of dollars have already been clawed back by the federal government for improper Medicaid claims related to illegal immigration. The blue-state elites created this mess, and now they want to drag out litigation rather than admit failure or fix the problem.
