A radical Lebanese terrorist has been nabbed at the southern border, and it’s all thanks to the heroic Border Patrol agents. Basel Bassel Ebbadi, a 22-year-old from Lebanon, was caught red-handed after illegally sneaking over the U.S.-Mexico border in El Paso, Texas on March 9. Why, you ask? Well, it seems our friends in Hezbollah recruited him and he was on his way to the Big Apple to do some, ahem, “bomb-making.”
Ebbadi spilled the beans and confessed to the Border Patrol agents that he planned to craft a bomb once he was in our beloved United States. Luckily, the agents were on their A-game and brought in the Tactical Terrorism Response Team to have a little chat with this troublemaker. After some prodding and a reading of his Miranda rights, Ebbadi came clean and admitted he was a card-carrying member of Hezbollah, the devious group funded by Iran, which is known for causing chaos and destruction in the Middle East.

But it seems ol’ Basel had a change of heart, or so he claims. He blabbed to Immigration and Customs Enforcement that he was on the run from Hezbollah and Hamas because, get this, he just didn’t want to kill people. Really? We’re supposed to believe this guy just got a sudden case of the warm and fuzzies? Nice try, Ebbadi.
Senator Ted Cruz wasted no time in putting the blame right where it belongs—on President Biden and the Democrats. Cruz labeled this incident as the inevitable result of the weak border policies, and he’s absolutely right. He’s not just blowing hot air; this is a legitimate concern. If this one bad apple managed to slip through our porous southern border, who knows how many more are waiting to cause havoc on our soil?
To make matters worse, it’s been reported that since fiscal year 2024 kicked off in October 2023, a whopping 58 illegal immigrants on the FBI terrorist watchlist have been apprehended by the heroic Border Patrol agents. Yeah, you read that right, FIFTY-EIGHT! And don’t even get started on the “gotaways”—those are the ones we should be really shaking in our boots about.
So, let this be a lesson. We can’t sit back and let anyone and everyone waltz through our borders. It’s time to get tough and protect our country from these nefarious characters. Thank goodness for our brave men and women on the front lines, keeping the bad guys at bay. United we stand, right?
