A Tennessee man, Reginald Cook, had a gun pulled on him after trying to rob a Shell convenience store not once, not twice, but three times! This guy just doesn’t know when to quit. The first incident went down around 2 a.m. when Cook, 26, tried to rob the store on Elvis Presley Boulevard in Memphis. He let the clerk know he meant business and demanded money, but came up short. Not to be deterred, Cook came back for a second and third try. The last time around, he was yelling and had a 5-foot snake slinking around his neck, like some kind of terrible omen. The poor clerk had enough and whipped out his own piece, calling the cops in a panic. They hauled Cook off to the clink, finding a railroad spike and a rock in his backpack. Yeah, this guy was definitely up to no good.

If that wasn’t enough, Cook’s family had the nerve to show up at the store the next day, apologizing and offering to pay for any damage he caused. As if money could fix the trauma of dealing with a snake-wielding, wannabe robber! On top of all that, lawmakers in California and Florida are scrambling to stop thieves from running amok in their states. It’s getting crazier out there, folks.
You just can’t make this stuff up. Some people never learn, and Reginald Cook is a prime example. Good on that clerk for standing his ground, and let’s hope lawmakers can figure out how to put a stop to these daring thieves.
