A recent incident in Boston has put the spotlight on the ongoing battle over immigration enforcement, and not surprisingly, it has left some folks less than thrilled. A Haitian illegal alien, apparently miffed by his arrest, took to yelling at Fox News cameras, blaming President Trump for his unfortunate situation while singing praises for President Biden and former President Obama. It’s a classic case of misplaced priorities if there ever was one.
This arrest was part of a broader operation by ICE in a sanctuary city, where the terms “illegal” and “sanctuary” seem to go hand in hand. The operation netted multiple criminals, including members of MS-13, a group notorious for its ties to violence and serious crimes. Meanwhile, Boston continues to release these criminals onto its streets instead of cooperating with law enforcement. Trump sets out to keep his promises, and one can only imagine the mental gymnastics that accompany the outrage from those who cradle the sanctuary city ideology.

Of course, this reality is often lost in the barrage of emotional rhetoric from liberal defenders of open borders. Instead of expressing gratitude that law enforcement is doing its job, the arrested migrant lamented the loss of his free ride on the coattails of Biden’s lax policies. The juxtaposition of a gang member facing serious charges alongside a regular citizen who is being sent back brings to light the absurdity of America’s immigration conversation—if criminals are reassured by the left’s open-arms approach, shouldn’t the average American’s safety come first?
Republicans, sensing an opportunity to celebrate the enforcement of the law, jumped on the incident with glee. Senator Schmitt shared a photo of Trump at a McDonald’s rallying support, while Vice President J.D. Vance remarked on the illegal alien’s gratitude toward Biden, which somehow equated to a virtual farewell from America. Even the White House Press Secretary joined in on the fun with a cheeky farewell to the detained migrant. After all, why wouldn’t the administration revel in a win for American safety over the chaos propagated by sanctuary policies?
The absurdity of a criminal complaining about his deportation while embracing Biden’s policies lays bare a critical truth for voters. If some of the “worst of the worst” illegal immigrants are rooting for a specific candidate, it might just be time to reconsider whom one supports. While progressive policies have failed to provide real solutions, it’s time to embrace law and order once again, ensuring that the safety of Americans remains a top priority.
