Canada is finally waking up. Prime Minister Mark Carney, Trudeau’s so-called successor in incompetence, is scraping some of those nonsensical tariffs his liberal government slapped on American goods. Talk about a reality check! When you depend on Canada as we do, that kind of self-sabotage only goes so far. They’re pulling back some counter-tariffs as they realize it’s a losing strategy, but of course, they won’t admit it’s out of desperation.
President Trump, with his America-first mindset, has shown what real leadership looks like. When Canada tried to punish American businesses, Trump hit back with a bold move, raising tariffs on Canada to 35%. That’s called playing hardball, and it forced Carney to make a U-turn. Let’s not kid ourselves – Canada’s move isn’t out of goodwill; it’s pure survival instinct.

Of course, Carney is trying to save face. He’s keeping tariffs on U.S. steel, aluminum, and auto exports in place, trying to appear tough for his political friends at home. But pulling back on other tariffs speaks volumes. Carney can put on a brave face, but everyone knows it’s Trump’s pressure that brought him to the negotiation table.
Canada’s misguided attempt at strong-arm tactics is a glaring example of liberal incompetence. They tried to retaliate against the U.S., yet they rely heavily on the American economy. The previous Trudeau leadership was a lesson in how not to handle trade relations with your biggest partner. Now, faced with economic and political consequences, Carney has to backtrack.
This is what happens when you mess with the unstoppable force that is the American economy under strong, conservative leadership. Canada has learned a hard lesson. Apologizing with these tariff rollbacks is just step one. The question now is, when will Canada fully admit their mistakes and join the right side of history?
