The ongoing efforts of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to apprehend illegal aliens have ignited a wave of discontent among celebrity elites. Recently, Selena Gomez, presumably known for more than we care to know, took a dramatic turn on social media, displaying her tears over the Trump administration’s robust crackdown on illegal immigration. This kind of emotional rhetoric is par for the course for the left, especially when it comes to “the children,” who they mysteriously seem to only remember when it suits their agenda. Meanwhile, Tom Homan, the no-nonsense border czar, has shown that he gives little credence to the sob stories of Hollywood.
In a strikingly effective series of raids that have a leftist meltdowns buzzing, ICE rounded up a whopping 613 individuals. This band of miscreants was not merely unfortunate souls seeking a better life; they included cartel members, drug traffickers, and even individuals charged with heinous crimes such as child pornography. Homan and his team are executing a clear directive from President Trump to tackle illegal immigration, focusing specifically on those who not only break immigration laws but also pose a direct threat to public safety. The numbers tell the story: 67 members of a violent Venezuelan gang were apprehended, sending a resounding wake-up call to anyone still clinging to the myth of peaceful illegal immigration.
Among the individuals arrested, one comes from the Tren de Aragua gang, a group with a notorious reputation for violence. This gentleman, having served time in a Venezuelan prison for robbery and firearm offenses, is emblematic of the type of criminals that thrive under lax border enforcement. One has to wonder if Selena Gomez sheds even a single tear for this character. If the Hollywood elite cared as much about law and order as they do about their public image, perhaps they’d think twice before demanding open borders and leniency for criminals.
The chaos doesn’t end there. ICE agents in Houston apprehended a member of the violent MS-13 gang, which is infamous for its brutal initiation rites involving murder and rape. This particular illegal alien has a long rap sheet back home, filled with acts of terrorism and armed robbery. Yet again, the question arises—would the tearful Ms. Gomez be more inclined to champion such a villain than the law-abiding citizens who just want their communities to be safe? The double standard is glaring.
Another arrest involved a Mexican national who had previously been convicted of possessing child pornography. It would be hard to imagine a scenario that could provoke more disgust; this individual’s mere existence in the U.S. should raise alarms. In a society that values safety and family, such a person has no place. Is there any sign of sympathy from the left for the victims of such crimes? The silence is deafening, revealing their priorities in glaring detail.

Then there was a Senegalese national arrested in Atlanta, who had somehow slipped through the cracks of a weak border enforcement regime, and even secured employment in an area that provides access to sensitive aviation operations. One can only shake their head at how someone can traverse an entire ocean and still find a way into a position of potential danger—all while the previous administration was busy turning a blind eye to the realities of border security. With a cadre like this being apprehended, ICE is showing that America is still a nation of laws, where illegal actions have consequences.
At a staggering pace, ICE continues to report higher numbers in arrests and detainers with each passing week. This is the kind of enforcement that was promised during Trump’s campaign, a promise being kept by Tom Homan and his team in an unyielding manner. The impact is palpable: more dangerous individuals are being detained or repatriated, making for safer communities. The concerted efforts by Trump’s administration to clamp down on illegality remind everyone of the very essence of what the borders are meant to signify: lawful entry and respect for the country’s laws.
