Chris Cuomo, the self-styled harbinger of progressive virtue on NewsNation, has found himself in the curious position of defending Vice President Kamala Harris during a recent episode of his YouTube show. With the election clock ticking down, and just two weeks to go until the pandemonium of Election Day, it appears even Cuomo is having a tough time glossing over the cracks in Harris’s appeal. Who would have thought? It seems even the staunchest supporters of the Biden administration are struggling to fit the square peg of Harris into the round hole of electoral charm.
During his rant, Cuomo took his audience on a nostalgic journey back to when Harris was not exactly the “it” girl of the Democratic Party. He noted that support for her was lukewarm at best just six months ago. Now, it seems, some of them are treating her like she’s the second coming, akin to how Barack Obama once strutted around as “Black Jesus.” Cuomo himself wasn’t buying this turnaround—he reminded viewers that while Obama was armed with charisma and persuasive powers, Harris might as well be packing a wet sock. It’s a tough comparison for a Vice President who, let’s face it, has done about as much for public enthusiasm as a lukewarm cup of coffee.
Chris Cuomo, no longer bound by legacy media to spread propoganda, can finally say what even the most loyal of democrats are thinking.

Cuomo didn’t just stop at criticizing the fad of Harris adoration—he waded into the messy waters of her ascent to the Democratic nomination. After Biden threw in the towel, Harris was promptly carted in to take his place, clearly in line to become the DNC’s chosen one. Cuomo seemed to suggest that the “process” was less than savory, perhaps even hinting that the rapid transition was not exactly a vote of confidence from the party. It’s almost as if the Democrats are playing musical chairs and no one wants to be left standing when the music stops.
Adding a dash of intrigue to his analysis, Cuomo bemoaned the narrative of Trump’s looming shadow, stating that the idea of avoiding critique of Harris simply because of Trump was preposterous. Apparently, Cuomo believes there’s some sort of societal value in taking a good, hard look at the blemishes on both candidates—though, good luck convincing a die-hard Democrat that Harris has any. Cuomo pointed out that both have their negatives, but the real kicker is that Trump has a “way more intense following.” This is the sort of reality check that could cause the entire Democratic Party to spontaneously combust at the next fundraising gala.
As if Cuomo’s musings weren’t eyebrow-raising enough, a RealClearPolitics poll just discovered that Harris is eking out a minuscule 0.8-point lead. This isn’t exactly a commanding position, but it’s enough to send her team pretending they’re off to the races. Meanwhile, Cuomo’s upcoming town hall with Republican Senator J.D. Vance is about to bring the smackdown, showcasing a not-so-subtle contrast between Biden’s choice of running mates and someone who might actually know how to win over the American people. As for whether the Democratic Governor Tim Walz will join the fray? Well, that remains anyone’s guess, but let’s just say it’s likely his invitation was lost in the shuffle of a hectic primary season—just like Harris’s appeal.
