A new wave of polling data has revealed just how out of touch the Democratic Party has become with the American people—and even with its own base. Despite suffering a stinging defeat at the hands of the America First Coalition in the last election, Democrats are doubling down on their failed agenda. According to recent national surveys, a staggering majority of Democratic voters now want their party to stick to its positions, even if it means nothing gets done in Washington. Instead of learning from their losses, the left appears determined to push further into the ideological wilderness, embracing the likes of Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as their standard-bearers.
The numbers don’t lie. The Democratic Party is at a historic low in favorability, with just 27-29% of Americans viewing it positively—an all-time nadir since the 1990s. Meanwhile, 65% of Democrats say they want their leaders to fight President Trump and the GOP, rather than seek compromise. This is a dramatic reversal from just a few years ago, when most Democrats favored working across the aisle. Now, the party’s answer to electoral rejection is to become even more extreme, alienating the broad middle of the country and risking further isolation from mainstream voters.
The situation in Texas offers a sobering parallel. While Republicans swept into office on a mandate for conservative governance, a group of so-called “Republicans” joined forces with Democrats to select a speaker who would cater to left-wing interests. Even more shocking, the Texas House nearly honored Cecile Richards, the former president of Planned Parenthood—an organization synonymous with the destruction of innocent life. Conservative outrage forced a retreat, but the episode exposed the ongoing threat of RINOs undermining the pro-life, pro-family values that Texans demand from their leaders.
The left’s assault on foundational freedoms doesn’t stop there. Texas Senate Bill 336, currently under debate, threatens to gut anti-SLAPP protections and open the door for leftist activists to weaponize the courts against conservative voices. If passed, this bill would make it easier for deep-pocketed progressives to silence dissent and drag grassroots conservatives through endless, financially ruinous lawsuits. The fact that such a bill is even being considered in Texas, the heart of American liberty, should alarm every defender of free speech.
Nationally, the priorities of the left grow more dangerous by the day. While American families mourn the victims of illegal alien crime, like the tragic murder of Rachel Morin by an MS-13 member, Democrat politicians are busy lobbying for the return of alleged gang members to U.S. soil. This is the true face of the modern left: a movement more concerned with coddling criminals and appeasing radical activists than protecting the safety and values of American citizens. As the America First Coalition continues to deliver on its promises, voters must remain vigilant and reject the left’s reckless agenda at every turn. The stakes for our nation’s future could not be higher.
