A grown man dressed as Chuck E. Cheese was dragged out in handcuffs right in front of innocent children and their families in Tallahassee, Florida. Jermel Jones, 41, was stealing credit cards from hardworking parents who just wanted to give their kids a fun birthday party. This is what happens when people lose all sense of right and wrong in America today.
Police body camera footage shows officers telling kids that “Chuck E. is a little bit busy” as they slapped handcuffs on this criminal. Can you imagine being a parent trying to explain to your child why their favorite mouse character is being arrested? These families paid good money for a safe, fun experience and instead got a front-row seat to a crime drama.
Jones stole a debit card from a mother during her child’s June birthday party and used it six times at different stores. He bought items at a smoke shop, a meat market, and Whataburger with money that wasn’t his. This thief had no problem stealing from a family who was celebrating their child’s special day.
When police searched Jones after his arrest, they found the stolen card in his pants pocket along with marijuana. He claimed he “just found” the card and was going to turn it in, but that’s exactly what every criminal says when they get caught red-handed. His excuse is as fake as his oversized mouse head.
The police officers did their job perfectly and kept the situation calm despite arresting someone in front of children. They asked Jones not to make a scene and used minimal force to get him in custody. Our law enforcement deserves credit for handling this delicate situation with professionalism.
This incident shows how crime has invaded every corner of American life, even places where families should feel completely safe. Parents can’t even take their kids to Chuck E. Cheese without worrying about employees stealing from them. When will enough be enough?
