Closing arguments are about to happen in the trial involving former President Donald Trump and hush money in New York. The trial is causing lots of worry for conservatives, who are concerned that Trump might be found guilty just because of politics. However, a legal expert thinks Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg might not have set up the best case against Trump.
The expert, Johnathan Turley, says Bragg’s case is like a piece of abstract art by Jackson Pollock – it doesn’t make a lot of sense. Turley pointed out that Bragg is turning a small charge into a big deal and relying heavily on Michael Cohen, who Turley calls a “pathological liar.”
Turley suggests the jury might have a hard time agreeing on what crimes Trump might have committed. He also thinks that because of Cohen’s credibility issues and Bragg’s confusing case, the trial might end without a clear decision, which could be the best outcome for Trump.
Fox News reported that a CNN correspondent, Sara Murray, thinks Trump might even be acquitted in the trial. Murray believes that the case against Trump is not a sure thing, which could be a big disappointment for Democrats.
