In a major blow to democracy, the Colorado Supreme Court made a 4-3 decision to bar former President (and future President, let’s be honest here) Donald Trump from appearing on the ballot in Colorado. This decision was met with cheers and celebrations from the Democrats, who are clearly willing to trample all over democratic processes to keep Trump out of office. It’s the epitome of hypocrisy, considering they never stop preaching about the importance of upholding democracy while simultaneously working to undermine it.
The court claimed that Trump’s actions on January 6, 2021, constituted an insurrection, using a provision of the Fourteenth Amendment to justify their decision. However, many legal experts, such as Jonathan Emord, have refuted this claim. Yet, President Joe Biden shamelessly insists that Trump “certainly supported an insurrection” and poses the “greatest threat” to our democracy. This baseless rhetoric only adds to the narrative of the Democrats’ relentless assault on the democratic process.

Biden’s comments have sparked widespread backlash, even on social media, with numerous individuals calling out the Democrats for their authoritarian tactics and attacks on the republic. The fact that they are actively preventing Americans from exercising their right to choose their next leader speaks volumes about their true intentions. It’s a blatant display of their disregard for the fundamental principles of democracy.
Not only are Biden and the Democrats doubling down on their vitriol towards Trump, but they are also facing scrutiny for their own incompetence and failures. Governor Ron DeSantis has raised the valid question of whether Biden should be removed from the ballot due to his failure to secure the southern border. It’s clear that the Democrats’ narrative of painting Trump as the ultimate threat to democracy is crumbling in the face of their own shortcomings.
Despite the Democrats’ attempts to portray the Colorado Supreme Court decision as a victory, polls indicate that a majority of Americans actually agree with the ruling. However, there is still hope that the decision will be reversed upon appeal, with many expressing uncertainty about the Court’s final ruling. Additionally, recent polls have revealed that more voters perceive the Democratic Party as extreme, and many believe that they are unfairly demonizing Trump as a dictator.
In the end, the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision is just a small battle in the larger war to ensure that democracy prevails. With the 2024 presidential election on the horizon, the American people will have the opportunity to defy the Democrats’ anti-democratic agenda and make their voices heard at the ballot box.
