The assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, 2024, was no minor incident — a 20-year-old gunman opened fire from a rooftop, striking multiple people and grazing President Trump before being stopped. The suspect, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, carried explosives in his vehicle and had planned the attack with alarming preparation and mobility.
What followed was a blizzard of excuses and cover-ups from the very agencies charged with protecting our leaders. The Secret Service’s director resigned amid bipartisan outrage after hearings exposed glaring communication breakdowns, ignored warnings, and a chain of command that looked more like a shrug than a defense of the American people. The Senate’s Homeland Security committee has since documented systemic failures that allowed the attack to nearly succeed.
Burchett’s point — that the official narrative doesn’t fit the facts — is not some fringe conspiracy cooked up overnight. He asked aloud how a kid with odd travel patterns, unexplained funds, and alarming pre-attack behavior could slip through the cracks, and why so many red flags were dismissed or swept away. Those are not rhetorical flourishes; they are real discrepancies people on the right have noticed and the mainstream media refuses to scrutinize.
