Court Halts Biden’s Title IX Overhaul in Six States, Cites Overreach

A federal appeals court has given President Biden’s radical Title IX rule the boot, sending it packing from six states: Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. Biden’s attempt to rewrite the rules on sex discrimination in education just hit a major roadblock, courtesy of the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

The majority ruling from the three-judge panel was a refreshing dose of common sense. According to them, the district court likely read the situation correctly, arguing that Biden’s redefinition of sex discrimination oversteps the U.S. Education Department’s authority. In plain English, the court’s saying that the Biden administration is biting off more than it can chew.

Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman celebrated the ruling as a victory for common sense and the foundation of equal opportunities for women and girls. Let’s be clear: for 50 years, Title IX has been about fairness in education and sports, not about turning everything upside down to accommodate the woke agenda. And yet, here comes Joe Biden, trying to dismantle decades of progress and equity.

Of course, the liberal outcry was instant and predictable. Chris Hartman from the Fairness Campaign bemoaned the decision, claiming that it could endanger transgender children. But let’s not kid ourselves: this ruling is about keeping girls’ spaces private and safe, without the interference of left-wing policies. Do Kentucky schools have an obligation to protect all students? Sure. But they should do it within the bounds of reality and common sense—not by cramming new definitions down our throats.

Enacted in 1972, Title IX aimed to protect against sex-based discrimination in federally funded educational institutions. Biden’s latest revision wants to add more protections for transgender students, going as far as dictating pronoun usage and bathroom access. Republicans argue this turns Title IX into a free-for-all, forcing schools to blur the lines of privacy and safety.

Democrats, predictably, claim these changes are about expanding civil rights and safeguarding victims of sexual harassment, but the evidence says otherwise. Their goal is to push a radical agenda, plain and simple. Biden’s Title IX overhaul is now blocked in nine other states and under legal scrutiny in twelve more, showing that Americans aren’t as sold on this fringe ideology as he might think.

House Republicans recently passed a resolution to counter Biden’s Title IX reforms. Representative Mary Miller called it a victory for girls everywhere, ensuring their right to fair competition and private spaces. But don’t hold your breath; the Senate is a mess, and the White House has already threatened a veto.

This courtroom victory is just the beginning. Common sense is making a comeback, and Biden’s agenda is on notice.
