Andrew Cuomo tried to play both sides on school choice back in 2015. He pushed his so-called Parental Choice in Education Act like he was some champion of parents’ rights. But this was the same guy who spent years blocking real school choice for New York families.
Cuomo’s plan was weak tea compared to what parents really needed. He offered tiny tax credits of just 500 dollars for low-income families. Meanwhile, kids were trapped in failing public schools while politicians protected the teacher unions.
Real conservatives have been fighting for true parental choice for decades. We know parents should decide where their kids go to school, not government bureaucrats. Every child deserves a chance at a quality education, whether that’s public, private, or religious schools.
The liberal establishment hates school choice because it threatens their control. They want to keep kids locked in failing schools so they can push their woke agenda. Parents who fight back get called extremists and troublemakers.
Look at what Governor Abbott is doing in Texas right now. He’s giving parents real power with education savings accounts. Families can use state money to send their kids to any school they choose, public or private.
This is what winning looks like when conservatives fight for families. Abbott isn’t offering crumbs like Cuomo did. He’s giving parents full control over their children’s education dollars.
The school choice movement is spreading across America because parents are fed up. They’re tired of politicians who make empty promises while their kids suffer in bad schools. Conservative governors are delivering real results.
Cuomo learned the hard way that you can’t fool parents forever. When you stand with the unions instead of families, parents remember. That’s why real school choice champions are winning elections while fake allies like Cuomo get left behind.
