Federal law enforcement has been caught red-handed, instructing financial institutions to target patriotic Americans in their search for potential wrongdoings. That’s right, folks, the deep state is at it again! According to Republican Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, the House Judiciary Committee chairman, these institutions were using search terms like “MAGA” and “Trump” to snoop into the private transactions of law-abiding citizens. It’s a clear violation of our rights, and it’s time to expose these unscrupulous tactics.
In his strongly worded letter to former Director of the Office of Stakeholder Integration and Engagement, Noah Bishoff, Jordan revealed the shocking truth. He disclosed that the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) distributed materials to financial institutions outlining “typologies” of people of interest and providing them with suggested search terms. And what were these terms? None other than “TRUMP” and “MAGA.” Can you believe it? They’re treating support for our great President as a crime!
We now know the federal government flagged terms like “MAGA” and “TRUMP,” to financial institutions if Americans completed transactions using those terms.

But it doesn’t stop there, my friends. The surveillance extended to analyzing payment messages on platforms like Zelle. The document even warned financial institutions about “extremism” indicators, which apparently included things like bus tickets, rental cars, and, hold on to your hats, the purchase of books and subscriptions to media containing “extremist views.” So now, buying a book or subscribing to a conservative news outlet automatically makes you a target? This is madness!
To add insult to injury, Jordan also attached a slide prepared by FinCEN that encouraged financial institutions to scrutinize transactions involving sporting goods retail chains like “Dick’s Sporting Goods” and “Cabela’s.” Can you imagine? They’re insinuating that law-abiding citizens who enjoy outdoor activities are potential criminals. It’s absurd!
Let’s not forget the FBI’s involvement in this egregious violation of our civil liberties. Jordan saw fit to send a similar letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray, demanding answers about their alleged cooperation with Bank of America. The goal? To track down individuals based on their financial transactions. Is this the America we want? A country where the government can pry into our personal lives without any due cause or suspicion?
It’s time to stand up against this encroachment on our freedom. Jordan is seeking interviews with key officials to get to the bottom of this mess. We need answers, and we need them now. The American people deserve better than to be treated like criminals for supporting their President and exercising their rights. Let’s fight back, stand together, and put an end to this outrageous surveillance once and for all!
