Dem Disarray: MN Rep Slams CO Court’s Trump Block!

Representative Dean Phillips from Minnesota had some choice words for the Colorado Supreme Court after their recent decision to remove former President Donald Trump from the primary ballot. The congressman didn’t hold back, calling the decision “absolutely wrong” and demanding immediate action from the highest court in the land.

The Colorado Supreme Court’s 4-3 ruling against Trump sent shockwaves through the political arena, citing his alleged involvement in the events surrounding the 2020 election as the basis for disqualifying him from the presidential race. But not everyone was on board with this controversial move. Fellow GOP candidate Vivek Ramaswamy vowed to remove his name from the ballot in solidarity with the former president, expressing clear disapproval of the court’s decision.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis chimed in from Iowa, taking aim at the Democrats and media for what he perceived as a coordinated effort to rally Trump’s base in the primary, effectively diverting attention from their legal attacks on him in the general election.

In a surprising twist, Phillips found himself at odds with some members of his own party, with Senator Chris Coons of Delaware backing the court’s decision by stating that Trump’s involvement in the insurrection was “undeniable.” Meanwhile, Missouri Representative Cori Bush unabashedly supported the ruling, labeling Trump as the “former white supremacist in chief” and solidifying her stance against his return to any political office.

However, not everyone in the Democratic camp was in lockstep with the Colorado Supreme Court’s ruling. Even Chris Christie, a vocal critic of Trump and another GOP candidate, spoke out against the decision, asserting that the voters, not the courts, should determine Trump’s political fate.

Unsurprisingly, the wheels of Trump’s legal team were already in motion, with a campaign spokesman announcing the swift intention to appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn what they denounced as a “deeply undemocratic decision.”
