Democratic Leaders Ignore Reality Trump’s Win Dashes Kamala’s Hopes

A gathering of state Democratic chairs in Arizona recently resembled a high school reunion of the perpetually defeated, featuring an orchestra of whines so loud it could be heard echoing through the Grand Canyon. In their cozy liberal bubble, it appeared that these Democrats were still under the laughable impression that Kamala Harris would stroll into Washington, D.C., with a massive electoral victory that, let’s be real, was never on the table. While they were busy daydreaming about how Harris would flip Florida blue, she in fact didn’t even manage to snag a single swing state before being soundly defeated by none other than President-elect Donald J. Trump. Outside their echo chamber, however, the electorate offered a stark wake-up call; billion-dollar campaigns that fail to make any impact typically indicate a serious disconnect with the voting public. In what can only be described as a moment of rare clarity, outgoing Democratic National Committee Chair Jamie Harrison suggested the party might want to reconsider its ‘woke’ antics during future voter outreach efforts.

Ironically, the most coherent voice in the room turned out to be Martin O’Malley, a name many have likely forgotten at this point. He proposed that the Democrats return to their historical roots as a party for the working class. But that’s like asking a cat to swim—good luck finding actual working-class folks in the elite circles of Democratic strategists. This meeting took place at a Hilton outside Phoenix, where attendees were greeted by cheery Christmas carols while feeling the weight of a thousand defeats on their shoulders. Unlike the frenetic energy observed after Trump’s inaugural victory, this crowd exuded exhaustion. Despite Trump’s choices for his administration garnering attention, the Democrats were more concerned about not being ready to take to the streets or tune into their usual leftist talking heads.

In a stem-winding tirade, Harrison attacked fellow party members advocating for a departure from “identity politics,” signaling the party’s cringe-worthy focus on such issues. Kicking off their proceedings with a “land acknowledgment,” an overtly virtuous display that concedes that the ground they stand on was once Native American territory, only served to reinforce the conservative stance that this kind of performative ‘wokeness’ is more about appearances than substance.

While trying to chart a course out of the electoral wilderness, some Democrats clung to a sliver of hope that their party wouldn’t be out of power for long. They’ve convinced themselves that America would soon tire of Trump again, despite evidence from past elections suggesting otherwise. In a blatant case of cognitive dissonance, they take solace in the fact that voters in some areas supported liberal initiatives and Senate candidates in states traditionally declared Trump territory.

But here’s the kicker—the Democrats seem to regard their supporters outside the coastal elite as little more than a necessary evil. It’s as if they believe that the working class has chosen their plight. While keeping up with ever-increasing inflation brought on by President Biden’s disastrous agenda, it’s almost laughable that there’s a sizable chunk of the Democratic Party that views struggling Americans as simply too ignorant to realize how wrong they are. This level of disconnect borders on absurdity. If there’s a silver lining, it’s that the Democrats’ persistent dysfunction presents a golden opportunity for Trump and the GOP to exploit serious issues like border security and making those tax cuts permanent.

Ultimately, the Democrats’ inability to step outside their comfort zone is what keeps driving voters away. Their insufferable attitudes make them unlikable and unapproachable—qualities that resonate poorly with the average American. The delusions they hold about their superiority only serve to reinforce the notion that they’re patently out of touch, proving once again that the leftwing elites couldn’t find common ground with everyday citizens if their lives depended on it.
