The Democrats thought they could play hardball with America’s security. Now they’re getting burned. The Department of Homeland Security shutdown was supposed to be their big play against Republicans. Instead, it’s exposed just how unfit they are to lead.
Faced with mounting pressure, leading Democrats are already scrambling to cover up their blunder. Some are even trying to quietly walk away from the mess they made. Why? Because their scheme to starve DHS funding while keeping their open border agenda alive is blowing up in their faces. They wanted to gut immigration enforcement, carve up Homeland Security piece by piece, and leave our border wide open for anyone to waltz through. It’s classic left-wing hypocrisy: pretend to stand for safety, then sabotage the very agencies that protect us.

As illegal crossings hit new highs and Americans see crime on the rise, it’s no wonder the public is furious. Meanwhile, globalist interest groups cheer as the Democrats stall security funding. Who are these politicians really working for? Clearly, not the families getting hammered by drug traffickers and cartels marching over the border.
Republicans are exposing this charade for what it is: a reckless, anti-American power grab. While Democrats melt down under the spotlight, the American people are paying the price. It’s not shocking to see liberal politicians cave—after all, standing up for border security was never their priority in the first place.
Let’s call it what it is. This DHS shutdown fiasco shows that for the left, politics comes before patriotism, every single time. If Americans want safety and real leadership, they won’t find it with the spineless globalists running today’s Democratic Party. Maybe the big question now: how much damage will liberals do before voters finally show them the door?
