This is not surprising, as Jones-Sawyer has a history of supporting lenient laws for criminal illegals. It is concerning that some lawmakers prioritize the well-being of illegal immigrants over the safety of American citizens. It is crucial for voters to pay attention to where their elected officials stand on such critical issues.

During the floor vote on AB2641, Essayli faced opposition from Democrats and some Republicans who chose to abstain from voting. This lack of decisive action is disappointing, especially when children’s safety is at stake. Lawmakers who failed to take a stand on this bill should be held accountable by their constituents. It is unacceptable for elected officials to ignore such an important matter.
One particularly moving voice in this debate was Angel Mom Agnes Gibboney, who lost her son to a criminal illegal immigrant. Her advocacy against sanctuary policies is fueled by personal tragedy, yet her pleas for change fell on deaf ears during the AB2641 vote. The disregard shown by legislators towards victims of illegal immigrant crimes is appalling. Californians should express their outrage over this decision and support efforts to hold lawmakers accountable for their neglect.
Assemblyman Essayli’s determination to challenge the status quo and prioritize public safety should be commended. He rightly pointed out the lack of concern displayed by some legislators towards protecting minors from criminal illegal immigrants. Californians must remember this vote come November and elect representatives who prioritize the safety and well-being of American citizens over appeasing special interests. It is time for accountability and decisive action to ensure the protection of vulnerable individuals in our communities.
