Democrats Ignore Overwhelming Majority on Women’s Sports Protection

Scott Jennings recently made a compelling case on CNN that protecting girls’ and women’s sports isn’t just a niche issue—it’s an overwhelming priority for the vast majority of Americans, making it a true 80/20 issue. Yet, somehow, Senate Democrats have repeatedly managed to ignore the chorus of concern from the public, opting instead to vote unanimously against a crucial bill aimed at securing those protections. This reality follows President Trump’s decisive move last month when he signed an executive order that could have advanced this cause. Clearly, some folks need a crash course in reality, preferably outside the hall of mirrors that is liberal politics.

During a segment on “The Arena with Kasie Hunt,” Jennings highlighted what he described as a “whole revolution of common sense” championed by Trump regarding this issue. The absurdity hit an all-time high when California’s Governor Gavin Newsom claimed to be diverging from his fellow Democrats on this matter. Jennings, however, stressed that when it comes to protecting female athletes, public sentiment is almost universally in favor, and the Democrats’ embarrassing stance on this issue only showcases their disconnect from the very people they claim to represent.

The panel even chuckled at Jennings’ mention of Payton McNabb, a former high school athlete who suffered serious injuries from a male competitor in the girls’ volleyball league. Their laughter at a young woman’s pain underscores the problem; while the Democrats scoff, McNabb’s story resonates with the American public. It begs the question: how out of touch can these politicians be, especially when they are becoming a source of comedic material for their own panelists?

Despite the bill’s failure to break through the filibuster due to the Democrats’ solid opposition, it previously passed in the House, indicating a bleeding desire for commonsense reforms. What’s more, an impressive 69% of voters across the political spectrum support the proposal to restrict males who have undergone gender transition from competing in women’s sports. Surprisingly enough, nearly half of the Democrats surveyed back this idea. It appears that even their own base is getting fed up with the radical left’s overreach, prompting a classic case of political self-sabotage ahead of the 2028 elections.

Importantly, polls from respected sources—including The New York Times and Ipsos—show a staggering 79% of Americans deem it inappropriate for biological males to compete against females in sports. Even a notable 67% of Democrats concur with this sentiment. If the Democrats hope to remain a viable political force, they would do well to step back from their extreme ideologies and recognize the reality that the majority of Americans stand firmly against their radical politics.

The discussion didn’t end there. Jennings took the opportunity to explain how government funds are being wasted on nonsensical projects like “transgender mice” experiments—something that would make even skeptics raise their eyebrows. Jennings’ dialogue turned serious as he confronted liberal panelist Van Jones, demonstrating how out of touch the left is with the pressing issues that taxpayers truly care about. Even the left-wing Axelrod, mocked by Jennings for his denial of the experiments, inadvertently echoed a common desire among Americans for eliminating waste and absurdity from government spending.

As the debate rolled on, Jennings delivered a sobering reality check to the liberals on the panel. This might just be the moment where the left needs to wake up and realize that dismissing the very real concerns of the American public isn’t going to help them at the ballot box. All the trolling and laughter in the world won’t save them from the political fallout waiting at the next election. The American people deserve serious solutions, and it’s past time for Democrats to stop laughing and start listening before they find themselves utterly out of touch with their constituents.
