Democrats Out of Touch as Far-Left Lawmakers Alienate Voters with Foreign Support

The once-mighty Democratic Party is now plummeting faster than a lead balloon, coinciding perfectly with a Republican stronghold that dominates the White House, Senate, House, and boasts a solid conservative majority in the U.S. Supreme Court. Yet, in a baffling display of self-sabotage, the most far-left representatives, ensconced safely in their districts, remain intent on alienating not just their opponents but also average Americans. Their antics are a masterclass in political miscalculation, perfectly timed with their party’s downward spiral.

Take Rep. Eric Swalwell from California, a man who has a reputation that includes cozying up to a suspected Chinese spy and, let’s not forget, a legendary fart incident on MSNBC. His recent penchant for cheerleading the Canadian national anthem at a hockey game, while booing the American anthem, speaks volumes about his priorities. Swalwell’s social media post celebrating this act of unAmericanism led to an outpouring of support from some Canadian fans, which begs the question: does this man genuinely think this endears him to constituents back home? He insists that Americans are stronger together, yet he’s happy to stand up for Canada while ignoring his own country’s anthem. Go figure.

While Swalwell seems determined to throw his allegiance towards Canada, he’s not alone in his baffling loyalties. His colleague, Rep. Jasmine Crockett of Texas, has taken her anti-American fervor to new heights—or depths, depending on how you look at it. Instead of rallying for her country, Crockett openly declared her support for Canada and Mexico, labeling them as champions of truth against what she sees as a tyrannical regime. It’s easy to root for foreign nations when one’s own country, under Republican leadership, actually vies for national integrity, but who needs patriotism when you can feel good by denouncing your home?

Some might say that the Democrats, particularly Swalwell and Crockett, have developed a serious case of the “grass is greener” syndrome, exchanging solidarity with their own people for misguided praise of other nations. Swalwell, caught between his Canadian hockey dreams and a dismal lack of support for American athletes, offers revelations that have all the credibility of a three-dollar bill. Meanwhile, Crockett’s candidacy appears increasingly driven by a desire to villainize her government instead of serving her district’s American constituents.

It’s worth mulling over how these congressional representatives see their roles. Are they elected to support foreign powers while airing grievances about American leadership? Their recent social media blitz battling the Trump administration’s policies, while condemning their own nation in favor of Ukraine amid ongoing conflicts, feels more like a performance than pragmatic politics. With their eyes glued to overseas matters, they risk alienating the very voters they are supposedly there to represent.

Above all, these Democrats seem immune to the political reality surrounding them. Their safe seats render them blind to the fallout of their acts of allegiance to foreign entities over the United States. With a party approval rating hovering around 21%, one can only guess how democratic dreams might trickle down to those fighting for relevance in future elections. As the clock ticks toward the 2026 midterms, the circus antics of folks like Swalwell and Crockett may very well serve as a warning sign. This is a party in desperate need of a compass—and maybe a history lesson on patriotism.
