Democrats Split as Biden Faces Pushback on Israel Resolution

President Joe Biden is about to face some serious pushback from within his own party over a GOP House resolution on the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas. The Democrats are turning on each other faster than a kid caught with their hand in the cookie jar!

Biden has been throwing shade at Israel’s military operations in Gaza, and now the hard-left Democrats are all up in arms about it. They’re pressuring Biden to take their side and criticize Israel even more. But hold on to your hats, folks, because the Republicans are standing strong in their support for Israel.

House Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar (R-FL) is leading the charge on a resolution that says, “Hands off Israel!” They’re not down with the idea of pressuring Israel into a ceasefire, especially since Biden has hinted at supporting one and the United States didn’t block a UN call for an immediate ceasefire. Several Democrats have been cozying up to the Republicans on this issue, showing that they’ve got some common sense left in them after all.

A couple of Democrats, including Reps. Jared Golden (D-ME) and Don Davis (D-NC), are ready to break ranks and support the resolution. It looks like the Democrats are at each other’s throats on this one. Rep. Dan Kildee (D-MI) even called the resolution “pretty bad,” but hey, he’s entitled to his opinion, even if he’s dead wrong.

This resolution is causing quite the stir, with some Democrats calling it a “partisan political resolution.” Well, duh! Everything in politics is partisan these days. The resolution is set to go to a vote next week, and it’s shaping up to be a real showdown in the Democratic camp.

This whole mess started with Hamas launching attacks on Israel back in October 2023, and things have been heating up ever since. It’s like a game of hot potato, except instead of potatoes, it’s international conflict!
