House Democrats are at it again, releasing yet another attack on former President Donald Trump and his business empire. These liberal lawmakers on the House Oversight Committee just can’t seem to resist throwing shade at anything with a “Trump” label on it. In their latest crusade, they’ve accused the Trump Organization of raking in millions of dollars from foreign governments while Trump was in office. They claim that these payments violate the Constitution’s “emoluments clause,” which prohibits presidents from accepting gifts or payments from foreign powers without congressional consent.

Ranking Member Jamie Raskin, a Democrat from Maryland, led the charge, accusing Trump of being in cahoots with “some of the most corrupt nations on earth.” He’s painting a picture of Trump cozying up to foreign governments and lining his pockets while ignoring the good ol’ red, white, and blue. It’s a classic case of Democrats crying foul and trying to make a mountain out of a molehill.
Their report alleges that the Trump Organization pocketed at least $5.5 million in payments from China or Chinese-owned businesses. Of course, they conveniently overlook the fact that Trump had distanced himself from managing his company during his presidency.
Enter Eric Trump, the Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization, who didn’t hold back in firing back at these baseless accusations. He slammed the claims as “insane” and pointed out that his father’s administration was tougher on China than any other in history. And let’s not forget about the supposed violation of a profits donation agreement. Eric wasn’t having any of it, emphasizing that all profits from foreign governments were willingly handed over to the United States Treasury. But of course, the mainstream media will latch onto any story that paints the Trump family as the “most corrupt in political history,” as Eric boldly pointed out.
What makes this whole debacle even more ridiculous is the timing. It’s no coincidence that these Democrat attacks surface just as House Republicans are gearing up for a potential impeachment vote on President Biden. While the dust settles on the House’s move to kick off an impeachment inquiry into Biden’s alleged involvement in his family’s foreign business dealings, the spotlight quickly shifts back to their favorite punching bag: Donald Trump.
Let’s not forget the cherry on top – the four hotels in question, including the iconic Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C. Now, it’s been rebranded as a Waldorf-Astoria after Trump sold it in 2022, but that doesn’t stop the Democrats from taking aim. These hotels are hotspots for tourists, both domestic and international, and the Democrats just can’t resist taking a swing at anything associated with the Trump name.
These attacks are nothing more than a desperate attempt to discredit Trump and distract from the real issues at hand. But as the saying goes, “the show must go on,” and the circus in Washington continues.
