Dems Prioritize Criminals, ICE Chief Warns Law Ignored

California Governor Gavin Newsom has decided to add another chapter to the magical book of “questionable policies.” He signed a law prohibiting law enforcement officers from wearing face coverings during official business. According to Newsom, the question to be asked is, what are they afraid of? Well, if skyrocketing assault rates against ICE agents are any indication, there’s plenty to be concerned about.

The statistics don’t lie. Since January, assaults against ICE agents have increased dramatically, yet politicians seem hesitant to stand by these men and women in uniform. It is frustrating when elected officials, cushioned in their safe offices, fail to understand why these agents need protection. Some, like those who work for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, have faced terrifying situations. One agent recalled being doxxed and having unwelcome visitors from groups like Antifa showing up at his doorstep in the middle of the night.

Sanctuary cities, particularly in places like New York City, further complicate ICE’s mission. These officials seem to prefer turning a blind eye to serious criminals ICE is trying to detain. Defenders of these policies must question themselves: What kind of example are they setting by standing up for individuals involved in gang activities, assaults, and drug trafficking? Are they truly considering the safety and well-being of the law-abiding citizens they represent, or merely pandering to a subset of their voter base?

Chicago provides a frontline glimpse into this ongoing struggle. Despite violent protests against federal law enforcement efforts, operations like “Operation Midway Blitz” have succeeded in apprehending hundreds of criminal aliens. What’s bizarre is that some protesters seem content with such individuals being released back onto their streets. Is there really a demand for sex offenders to roam free where children play? One must wonder where common sense has gone when public protests aim to block law enforcement from protecting their communities.

Amidst all this, ICE agents remain undeterred, focused on their goals. They’ve rescued kidnapped children and apprehended criminals, which underscores their critical, often undervalued role in society. Despite being publicly compared to some of the worst historical figures, these agents continue to uphold their duty, rescuing victims from horrific situations that, frankly, policymakers should be more vocal about addressing. The American public should receive better insights into the impactful, lawful work these agents carry out every day.
