It seems like everybody these days is down in Mexico for some reason, but not on vacation. A group of Democratic politicians has been visiting a certain someone – the kind of someone we might not want just lounging around here in the States. It raises the question: why are they so enamored with this person when there are American citizens, ‘Angel Moms’ as they’re called, who’ve lost kids and get zero attention? Families who’ve suffered from illegal alien crime seem to be invisible to these politicians. Yet, they’re eager to publicly support someone with a less-than-stellar resume who’s here illegally. Well, the rest of us remain puzzled by their priorities.
In Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis is not taking a backseat. He’s spearheading a powerful immigration operation to tackle illegal immigrant crime in his state. Over just five days, this operation with ICE made over 1,000 arrests. Criticism, of course, comes swift as a summer thunderstorm in the Sunshine State. A local reporter suggested ICE is recklessly targeting people with American birth certificates. The governor, however, waved the accusation aside, labeling it as a “phony narrative.” Apparently, enforcing immigration law is such an anomaly that it now gets spun into imaginary stories.
Governor DeSantis didn’t mince words while addressing these concerns. Why would ICE waste resources on American citizens when it’s illegal aliens that they’re targeting? These folks have gone through the legal process and have been ordered out – seems fair they leave, right? According to the governor, the operation targets those who’ve ignored previous deportation orders, not those with minor infractions. Yet, some would have you believe enforcing such orders is like auditioning for the next big courtroom drama show.
Nationwide, there is an alarming number needing attention – close to 900,000 illegal aliens are out there with active deportation orders. In Florida alone, the number could be as high as 70,000. This operation with ICE isn’t just for show. They’ve got plans to handle this issue effectively, including setting up centers to hold individuals before deportation. The governor reminded everyone, deportation isn’t a criminal punishment; it’s just sending people back where they belong. It’s not a trial; it’s simply following through on what the law demands.
Finally, it’s astonishing how the previous administration allowed such a backlog of deportations. Over 900,000 people with criminal deportation orders were left unbothered – a list as long as most of our complaints about ongoing traffic. Some people talk about due process surrounding deportation like it’s the latest Netflix courtroom thriller. The reality is, should you be here illegally with an order to leave, it’s about time to pack those bags. Governor DeSantis, despite all the noise, continues to focus on making sure Florida isn’t a haven for anyone bypassing the law.
