DeSantis Tumbles to 4th Place in NH: Trump Reigns, Haley Soars!

New Hampshire, the land of hearty New Englanders and syrup-laden pancakes, has spoken! And it seems they’ve rendered their verdict on Ron DeSantis’ presidential aspirations in a poll that doesn’t paint a pretty picture for the Florida governor. According to the latest study by Emerson College Polling/WHDH, DeSantis has been knocked all the way down to the fourth position, behind the insurmountable lead of the one and only Donald J. Trump. And if that wasn’t enough, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and even former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie have surpassed DeSantis too!

Now, if you ask me, this doesn’t bode well for DeSantis’ campaign. Christie, who’s barely been able to get a rise out of anyone, let alone move the needle, has managed to leave DeSantis in his dust. Perhaps it’s Christie’s vehemently anti-Trump stance or his basement-level likability that’s doing the trick. Frankly, I say the guy always had better taste in ice cream than in politics.

But the real shocker here is the flip-flopping of DeSantis and Haley. These two have essentially swapped roles, with DeSantis dropping from a respectable 17% to a measly 7%. Meanwhile, Haley has experienced a major post-debate boost, jumping from an unimpressive 4% in August to a solid 18%. Talk about a comeback! I must say, it’s quite the rollercoaster ride in the world of Republican primary politics.

Speaking of Haley, in New Hampshire, she’s not only defeating Biden but also outperforming Trump in hypothetical matchups. According to the poll, Haley trounces Biden with a 45-39% lead while Biden squeaks ahead of Trump with a 47-42% advantage. Now, that’s what I call a power move! It seems the people of New Hampshire are seeing something in Haley that they’re just not finding in DeSantis.

But let’s not forget, folks, this poll was conducted before Haley’s infamous Fox News interview where she went on about verifying everyone on social media by their real names. Sure sounds like a threat to our cherished anonymous speech rights, doesn’t it? Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA hit the nail on the head when he called out Haley’s attempt to stifle freedom of speech. Anonymous or not, everyone should have the right to express their opinions openly and without fear of retribution. The founders knew this, but apparently, Haley missed that memo.

According to the poll’s Executive Director, Spencer Kimball, Haley’s support seems to be concentrated among older voters and those with fancy postgraduate degrees. Hey, that’s great for her, but what about the regular folks, the hardworking Americans who don’t have “postgraduate” plastered behind their names? Trump still reigns supreme among non-college-educated voters, with a resolute 57% supporting him compared to a meager 12% for Haley. As for the educated Republicans, Trump squeaks ahead with 35% to Haley’s respectable 27%. Looks like education doesn’t always equal sound judgment, folks.

So there you have it, the folks in New Hampshire have spoken, and they’ve dealt a mighty blow to DeSantis’ hopes of becoming the next Commander-in-Chief. Looks like he’ll have to return to the drawing board or maybe start distributing free syrup packets if he wants to win back the hearts of the New Englanders. As for Haley, she may be riding high now, but let’s see how long that lasts. Amnesty for social media verification? No thank you, Nikki. We value our freedom, even if it means occasionally enduring a few Twitter trolls.
