If someone skimmed through news stories lately, they’d notice lots of fuss about Donald Trump and claims he was trying to intimidate people in the court system. These reports were all trying to say that Trump was trying to bend the rules to win trials. If we’re judging Presidents by these rules, it might be fair to look at Joe Biden too.

Recently, a news outlet shared a story about how Joe Biden is feeling concerned as his son, Hunter, gets ready for trial. The article talked about how Biden is worried his son might end up in prison, and how watching his son go to court is really hard for him.
The cases against Hunter Biden are serious and being brought by the Department of Justice. It’s worth noting that recently, Joe Biden brought Hunter to an event with the Attorney General. Then, Joe Biden made a surprise late-night visit to talk to one of Hunter’s former partners, who is also going to be a witness in the trial.
If it was Donald Trump doing these things, the news would be all over it, calling it witness intimidation. But with Biden, there’s not as much noise. It’s important to treat both sides equally. If the Democrats say they stand for the rule of law, they should hold themselves to that same standard.
