In a surprise move, Dr. Fauci, the White House's chief medical advisor, decided to tour the country and address the media to shift the blame away from his role during the outbreak of COVID-19.
Kaitlan Collins, a CNN anchor, referred to a quote from Fauci that he said about being perceived as the embodiment of recommendations. According to him, he never actually closed a factory. Instead, he stated that he gave a public health recommendation that followed the CDC's guidelines.
Fauci tried to defend himself, but he noted that the decisions regarding the lockdowns are made by other authorities. Besides public health, other factors such as the economy and social conditions are also taken into account.
It is troubling to see that Dr. Fauci, who was supposed to be the leader of medical advice, is now distancing himself from the recommendations he made during the course of the epidemic. It is clear that he was instrumental in orchestrating the country's lockdown during the pandemic. Now he wants to distance himself from the responsibility.
It is clear that he bears some responsibility for the damage caused by the prolonged lockdowns. Not only did it negatively affect students, but it also caused economic issues for many Americans.
It is clear that Fauci is trying to distance himself from his role in the containment of the COVID-19 pandemic by shifting the blame away from his actions. It is time for him to take responsibility for the damage he has caused.
