Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, a Senate-confirmed leader with a practical private-sector mindset, has been clear that the Trump administration is moving beyond slogans and into policies that actually lower costs for families and rebuild opportunity.
For too long Washington chased feel-good programs while ignoring the crushing price tags that keep young families from buying homes or small business owners from expanding. The president’s agenda — framed as a “renewal of the American Dream” and backed up by concrete proposals to rein in waste, cut regulatory red tape, and prioritize cost-effective infrastructure — is exactly what the country needs to reverse the affordability crisis.
Duffy isn’t just talking; he’s acting. Since taking the reins at Transportation, he has pulled federal support from boondoggle projects like California’s failing high-speed rail and pushed for common-sense reforms to make roads safer and cheaper to maintain, showing that conservative stewardship of taxpayer dollars can deliver better results than endless spending and virtue-signaling.

There will be blowback from the usual suspects — coastal elites and bureaucrats who profit from complexity — but Americans are wiser than that. They know the American Dream isn’t achieved through more government mandates or higher taxes; it’s restored when conservative leaders deliver lower costs, faster permitting, and honest stewardship of taxpayer dollars.
If Washington truly wants to make the American Dream a reality again, it must keep doing what Duffy and this administration have started: cut waste, stop subsidizing failed political projects, and focus on policies that make housing, transportation, and everyday living more affordable for hardworking families.
