Gracias calmly laid out how, under the current administration, people can cross the border, claim asylum—which many do not qualify for—and receive a court date that typically stretches out over six years. He explained that not only do these individuals receive work permits, but they can also obtain Social Security numbers with essentially no identification required. Such leniency raises serious questions about the integrity of Social Security, particularly under the auspices of a government that seemingly prioritizes a radical immigration agenda over the security of American citizens.
