FEMA Accused of Skipping Trump-Supporting Homes Claims of Political Bias Emerge

A former supervisor for the Federal Emergency Management Agency has claimed that she was fired for doing the very thing that the agency seems to embrace—a discriminatory practice that involves ignoring homes sporting signs that support Donald Trump in hurricane-hit Florida. Marn’i Washington, now the poster child for FEMA’s laughable attempts at avoiding accountability, has made the bold assertion that the alleged discrimination isn’t merely a single rogue incident. Instead, it’s a widespread and covert operation across various disaster areas, as FEMA workers reportedly follow orders to bypass “politically hostile” residences.

Following her disappointing termination, Washington took her grievances to an interview, sharing that this isn’t just Florida’s exclusive problem. Instead, she illuminated a broader narrative involving other regions, like the Carolinas, where officials are apparently instructed to similarly avoid homes that show Trump allegiance. It’s become quite clear that if your house flies a flag or boasts a yard sign supporting Trump, you might as well forget about FEMA’s quick response at your doorstep. Nothing like a disaster relief agency functioning at political odds with reality.

FEMA has recently maintained that Washington’s orders were not part of official policy and labeled her actions as an isolated occurrence. But Washington doesn’t buy that for a minute. She argues that not only are these so-called “avoidance practices” common, they are standard operating procedures. Interestingly, her higher-ups provided her with approval for this kind of “avoidance” behavior, which leads people to ponder just how deep this political bias runs within FEMA.

With Hurricane Milton wreaking havoc in Florida, it was reported that FEMA workers were instructed to skip over homes with Trump signs. This resulted in many eligible properties missing out on assistance. And while some may label this as an administrative oversight, it seems more like a well-crafted plan to sidestep political opposition. Internal notes reveal FEMA workers noted the absence of contact with residents due to these explicit directives. It was the latest manifestation in government agencies adhering to progressive politics, leaving Republican supporters out in the rain—figuratively and literally.

Washington suggested that FEMA’s official narrative is simply a smokescreen meant to protect its reputation—a rather pathetic move by an agency that’s meant to assist the American people, regardless of their political affiliations. Instead, it appears they prefer playing political favorites while disaster relief takes a backseat. Her claims certainly raise eyebrows about the integrity of an organization trusted by the public to provide aid during times of crisis.
