In a year filled with political noise and chaotic narratives, one piece of positive news stands out: America has seen a significant drop in its murder rates. According to the latest report, murders decreased by 20% last year compared to the previous year. This marks the fewest number of murders nationwide since 1900. But don’t expect the mainstream media to highlight this victory for safety and security, much less attribute it to effective law enforcement strategies under the Trump administration.
It seems like a straightforward story of success, but it’s never that simple with today’s media. When the FBI doubled its efforts and managed to arrest a record number of violent criminals in 2025, you’d think news outlets would be singing their praises. Yet, they manage to downplay these real achievements. The FBI’s efforts, bolstered by support from the Trump administration and robust leadership from figures like Dan Bongino and Kash Patel, led to 6,000 children being saved from becoming crime victims and the arrest of 300 human traffickers. They even seized a staggering 2,000 kilos of fentanyl. But instead of celebrating these triumphs, some media outlets unrealistically twist the narrative to suggest America is somehow less safe.
There’s clear irony in how the media chooses to report these facts. It seems some would rather spin yarns of doom and gloom than acknowledge that decisive action and leadership have led to historic lows in crime rates. The FBI has outperformed previous years, apprehending more top ten wanted fugitives in a single year than were caught during Biden’s entire tenure. With crime rates dropping dramatically, it’s puzzling how headlines still manage to suggest the opposite. This is what happens when newsrooms insist on living in their own bubble of ignorance, ignoring the positive impacts of effective law and order.
And yet, some voices, like Dan Bongino, have no trouble calling out this disconnect. His return to the podcast scene no doubt promises more blunt truths that the mainstream might not be ready to hear. Bongino’s direct approach sheds light on the gnawing gap between the reality of national safety and the façade that some persist in maintaining. His recent exit from the FBI after helping steer its focus and objectives back to core principles of law enforcement offers a fresh chance to address what the typical media outlets avoid.
While the media may fail to grasp the significance of these achievements, the facts speak for themselves. With the secure border efforts, a stronger military, and a focused FBI, it’s really no surprise that these proactive measures contribute to historically low crime rates. If only the media could admit what’s right in front of their noses. Listening to them would make one think they’re reporting from a different universe altogether. Yet, here we are, with an Administration and its team that have delivered what they promised: reduced crime, enhanced safety, and a nation reclaiming its sense of security. Now, if the media could only learn to appreciate it—or at least report it accurately.
