Two sanitation workers had a brief argument with a man at a Wawa gas station. When they drove away in their garbage truck, the angry man followed them in his SUV . He chased them through Zephyrhills while repeatedly shooting at their vehicle . The workers were just doing their jobs when this nightmare began.
The suspect fired multiple gunshots at the moving garbage truck. He rammed his SUV into the truck during the high-speed chase . One worker fell from the truck during the violent attack and got hurt . These brave men were simply trying to escape a madman with a gun.
Police identified the shooter as Quinson De’Shawn Croson. This 46-year-old criminal is a convicted felon . He broke the law by even having a gun. Felons like him ignore our laws and put innocent lives at risk every day.
Croson had no right to touch a firearm under Florida law. Yet he brazenly used one to attack working-class citizens . This is exactly why we need stricter penalties for felons caught with guns. Our communities aren’t safe when criminals face zero consequences.
Thankfully, police tracked Croson down and arrested him . He now faces two counts of attempted murder plus illegal gun charges . Law enforcement did their job well here, protecting citizens from this dangerous man.
This horror story proves we must support our police and strengthen sentencing laws. Out-of-control criminals think they can shoot at hardworking Americans without punishment. We need real consequences to stop this lawlessness.
