House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is accompanied by sixty Republican legislators to the border in order to demonstrate that President Joe Biden is incapable of protecting American families and communities from foreign migrants. At 3:30 Eastern, the press conference will commence at the Shelby Park Boat Launch in Eagle Pass, the exact location where Biden's team has been assembling to greet hundreds of thousands of economic migrants. Speaker Johnson and his fellow House Republicans will highlight the failure of the Biden Administration's border policy, share their on-the-ground experiences, and discuss their conversations with federal, state, and local officials, according to the statement.

This action is a direct challenge to the pro-immigration press and Democrats who are attempting to portray the incident as an ordinary border crossing. However, in all honesty, this is likely to be the largest assembly of lawmakers ever to cross the boundary, so Biden, good luck spinning that!
Do you know what? A few weeks ago, the Eagle Pass scenario was completely different from what it is today. It appears that the Biden Administration underwent a reassessment and opted to relocate the influx of unauthorized immigrants in order to shield them from the scrutiny of the media during the House of Representatives' visit. Nice try, but sorry, folks, they are still being released.
Here is Eagle Pass just weeks ago vs. yesterday.
The Biden Administration decided to divert the flood of illegal immigrants to another location in order to keep them out of the camera shots during @HouseGOP’s visit to Eagle Pass. Don’t be fooled, they are still being released… pic.twitter.com/XzjPVq5xxB

Since August, there are officially more arriving each month than there are children being born to American mothers.
And these are just the official encounters — we don't know how many avoided detection. https://t.co/7Bt52x0385 pic.twitter.com/2APOiICGW0

What's the difference between House-passed H.R. 2 and the "compromise" going through the Senate?

This event could not have occurred at a more opportune time, particularly in light of the revelation by Biden's camp that a minimum of 300,000 economic migrants crossed the border illegally in December. As if that weren't enough to boil your blood, consider the following: Biden probably allowed 3.3 million migrants to cross the southern frontier in 2023; that equates to approximately one immigrant for every American birth. Undoubtedly, the monthly influx of immigrants surpasses the number of infants born in the United States. And that does not include those who are infiltrating clandestinely. It is horrifying!
The purpose of this event was to strategically remind senators that the Republican Party has already successfully passed H.R. 2, a comprehensive, legally sound, and popular border stabilization bill. Speaker Johnson has assiduously advocated for H.R. 2 while Republican senators negotiate a solution with Biden's pro-immigration posse regarding the border chaos. Biden's request for an additional $14 billion to amplify and conceal his migration ploy during the 2024 campaign is entangled in these negotiations.
However, it is important to note that Republican senators are not particularly enthusiastic about discussing the more significant matter at hand, which is the economic and social devastation that mass migration is causing for average Americans. Senator Lindsey Graham claims that "asylum reform, parole restrictions, and a re-invocation of Title 42" are being considered as possible solutions. Put simply, they are cautiously approaching the genuine article.
Amidst this, Representative Tony Gonzales has been generating considerable attention. He has been educating Republican senators on the disparity between the House and Senate border packages. He has been candid in stating that the outcome of any package that emerges from the Senate will be completely different from what the House would approve. Clearly, the House is intent on conducting business.
Representative Gonzales is aligned with prominent business benefactors of the Republican Party, who are more than willing to ignore the economic repercussions that Biden's migration circus has on American families. Additionally, there is a limited number of Republican lawmakers scheduled to participate in the press conference who are determined to shift their focus from the migration crisis to border crossings. It is true that there is donor pressure, and no one is willing to upset that boat. Why, you inquire? Because the addition of billions of new consumers, renters, and low-wage laborers makes pro-immigration business leaders positively gleeful.
It is anticipated that immigration will take the show once more this year. According to a survey conducted by the Associated Press, it is the subject that is most prominently discussed, second only to the confrontation with Russia. Immigration has risen to the forefront of public concern, with an astounding 35% of respondents identifying it as a significant concern. From last year, this is an 8% increase, so it is fair to conclude that fewer people are playing video games. In the Republican camp, immigration holds the highest regard at an astounding 55%, surpassing even foreign policy, inflation, and the economy.
Moreover, according to surveys, average citizens are not taking Biden's sanctuary city proposal seriously. A significant 62% of Catholics in New York believe that legal immigration is not worth the difficulty it causes. The public is progressively abandoning the antiquated concept of the "Nation of Immigrants." Indeed, the times are transforming!
