Ah, the IRS strikes again! The GOP-led House Oversight and Accountability Committee is launching a full-blown probe into the Internal Revenue Service for allegedly allowing nonprofits to engage in “prohibited” political activities. And trust us, folks, this is some shady business!
House Republicans Announce Probe Into IRS For Allegedly Allowing 'Prohibited' Political Activityhttps://t.co/iHuq6gYbtU

According to House Oversight Chairman James Comer, the IRS has let certain 501(c)(3) nonprofits get away with using lobbying as a “substantial part” of their operations. Now, that might not sound too bad, but let’s not forget that it goes against the tax agency’s own regulations. Talk about playing favorites!
Take, for example, One Fair Wage, a nonprofit that advocates for an increased minimum wage. It seems that the IRS has looked the other way while this organization has been galavanting around, lobbying left and right. I mean, come on! Can’t they find something better to do than push their political agenda?
But here’s the kicker, folks. The IRS doesn’t even have a clear standard for what constitutes a “substantial part” of lobbying activities. They just make it up as they go along! Talk about a lack of consistency. It’s like they’re playing a game of tax exemption roulette, except it’s the American people who end up losing.
Now, One Fair Wage has been involved in a full-blown campaign to increase the minimum wage in 25 states. And if that wasn’t enough, they’ve even described lobbying as their “organizational purpose.” I don’t know about you, but doesn’t that sound like they’re putting their political agenda ahead of their so-called charitable work? It’s downright unacceptable!
But here’s the good news, folks. The House Oversight and Accountability Committee is demanding all the IRS documents related to 501(c)(3) enforcement activities and everything they have on One Fair Wage. And let me tell you, if these nonprofits are found guilty of violating the lobbying restrictions, they could lose their precious tax-exempt status. It’s about time someone held them accountable!
But wait, there’s more. It turns out that left-of-center nonprofits like the Gates Foundation, Tides Foundation, and Windward Fund have been funneling hundreds of thousands of dollars into One Fair Wage. It’s like they’re all in cahoots! These organizations claim to be all about equity, human rights, and the environment, but it seems like their real agenda is pushing a liberal political narrative. Shocking, I know!
And let’s not forget about the Windward Fund, part of the liberal dark money network known as Arabella Advisors. These folks are masters at moving money around to do their dirty work. They take cash from their 501(c)(3) nonprofits and throw it into their 501(c)(4) organizations, which have more freedom to engage in political operations. It’s a convoluted mix of deception and manipulation.
Folks, it’s time we demand transparency and fairness from the IRS. They can’t just let their buddies off the hook while hardworking Americans foot the bill. We need to hold these nonprofits accountable for their political shenanigans. Let’s put an end to this unjust favoritism once and for all!
