Illinois Governor JB Pritzker has unveiled yet another instance of jaw-dropping hypocrisy. After a horrific Labor Day weekend in Chicago, during which nearly 60 people were shot, Pritzker had the nerve to oppose the notion of bringing in the National Guard to protect the residents of his state. Yet, this very same governor had no qualms about deploying those troops for the Democratic National Convention, prioritizing the safety of liberal elites over his own citizens.
What does it say when political class events receive the full force of government protection while ordinary Chicagoans are left to fend for themselves in a city teetering on the edge of chaos? Pritzker’s actions are a blatant demonstration of elitism, showing once again that the progressive agenda prioritizes political clout over the safety and security of Americans.

In a city where the Mayor, Brandon Johnson, has already dismantled vital crime-fighting tools like ShotSpotter due to perceived “overpolicing,” Pritzker’s unwillingness to aid a crime-ridden Chicago reveals stunning liberal incompetence. These decisions speak volumes about the left’s priorities: promote the progressive agenda at all costs, geography and logic be damned. The left’s aversion to effective law enforcement strategies, all in the name of political correctness, leaves residents vulnerable and law enforcement hamstrung in their battle against crime.
And while Democrats like Pritzker fret about the optics of Trump’s proposed interventions, let’s pause to reflect on the appalling reality: over the course of one weekend, 58 residents were victims of shootings, with eight deceased. How can any responsible leader justify inaction when the bodies keep piling up? Liberal leadership seems more focused on defending their flawed policies than on the lives of citizens they swore to protect.
In the end, it’s clear: the lives of Chicagoans don’t seem to count as much as safeguarding political gatherings. America deserves leaders who treat the lives of regular citizens with the same respect and urgency they afford their luxurious political events. Are we really that surprised when Democratic politics consistently put the social elite above their own populace? It’s time for Americans to wake up and question the troublesome priorities of their leadership.
