Gutfeld Slams Media: Cozying Up to Russia?

When we talk about the absurdity of political theatrics, it’s hard not to chuckle at just how misguided some attempts at virtue signaling can be. Recently, a crew of Democratic former military officials decided it was a brilliant idea to stitch together a video message. With a budget obviously smaller than a high school lunchroom makeover, they expected this sensational production to create waves and, who knows, maybe snag a daytime Emmy for its sheer audacity. However, the content didn’t quite deliver as expected.

Instead of presenting a clear, thoughtful message, their video was as vague as directions from someone who’s never used a GPS. The video was supposed to ensure military members don’t forget their constitutional obligations. Still, it came off more like an episode of “America’s Least Convincing Pep Talks.” The spectacle left viewers scratching their heads, unsure if this was intended as a public service announcement or some avant-garde performance art. It seemed like the makers were inspired more by karaoke nights than legislative briefing sessions.

The real head-scratcher here is the motivation behind the video. Was it an earnest attempt to influence, or just a low-budget clip aimed at boosting their own visibility? This kind of behind-the-scenes manipulation masquerading as deep concern does little more than sprinkle salt into the cauldron of political tension. The notion that this disjointed mishmash could sway anyone’s allegiance is as likely as finding rational discourse at a continental breakfast debate—a rare and improbable occurrence.

Yet, there’s a troublesome undertone beneath the poorly executed messaging. Even if unconvincing, these gestures are not without consequence. When the goal appears to stoke fear and chaos rather than foster unity, it’s like playing with matches near a dispatch full of fireworks. Such antics only echo louder across enemy lines, leaving foes less intimidated and perhaps, even intrigued by our apparent disarray.

Let’s also not forget that this stunt came from the comfort of Washington offices, far removed from the reality faced by service members. It’s as if they were directing a horror movie, expecting jump scares and despondency in a screenplay that should aim for clarity and resolute strength. These old soldiers are no longer bound by active duty, yet they wield their former titles like hammers, trying to shape consensus out of partisan alloy.

In the end, this bizarre chapter in political theatre leaves one considering what the producers of this video were envisioning. Perhaps, they imagined accolades and fervent standing ovations. Instead, they received little more than collective eye rolls and the kind of bewilderment one might feel after sitting through a reality show marathon. For the rest of us, we just keep hoping for the sequel: “The Return of Common Sense,” coming to a voting booth near you.
