Hannity: Dems’ Downward Spiral Accelerates

Elite universities, led by Harvard, have once again shown their true colors—demanding more from hardworking taxpayers while sitting atop endowments that would make Wall Street blush. Harvard, with its $53 billion endowment, is suing the Trump administration over a freeze on billions in federal research grants. The administration’s position is straightforward: if these institutions want taxpayer money, they should meet basic standards and transparency, especially when it comes to addressing campus extremism and antisemitism. But instead of tightening their belts or dipping into their vast reserves, Harvard and its Ivy League peers are fighting tooth and nail to keep the gravy train running, all while crying foul about government “intrusion.” It’s a spectacle that would be funny if it weren’t so insulting to everyday Americans who live within their means.

This sense of entitlement isn’t limited to the ivory towers. The Democratic Party, in its ongoing quest to appear “relatable,” is now embracing what some call “dark woke” politics—a bizarre blend of identity obsession and performative angst. The results are as awkward as they are ineffective. Instead of connecting with regular Americans, these stunts only highlight how out of touch Democratic leaders have become. Their efforts to rebrand and repackage their message are falling flat, especially as young voters increasingly see through the charade and shift toward the GOP, seeking real solutions instead of empty gestures.

The numbers don’t lie: Democratic leadership is plumbing new depths of unpopularity. Recent polls show the party’s favorability at record lows, with approval ratings hovering around 27–29 percent. Even more telling, a Yale poll found that voters aged 18 to 21 now lean Republican by a double-digit margin. The party that once claimed to have a lock on the youth vote is watching it slip away, thanks to a relentless focus on fringe issues and a stubborn refusal to address the real concerns of working families.

Meanwhile, Democratic politicians like Senator Chris Van Hollen are busy globe-trotting and grandstanding on immigration cases, such as the saga of Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Instead of focusing on the tragic consequences of lax border policies, which have led to real harm in communities across the country, Van Hollen and his colleagues are more interested in scoring political points abroad. Their priorities are clear: virtue signaling and international posturing take precedence over the safety and well-being of their constituents.

Perhaps the most telling example of the party’s misplaced priorities is the rush to defend individuals who have run afoul of immigration law, even when there are serious questions about their background. Democratic lawmakers are scrambling to demand the return of deported individuals, ignoring the chaos and crime unleashed by open borders. It’s as if the party has decided that enforcing the law is passé, and the only thing that matters is appearing compassionate, no matter the cost to American communities.

In the end, Americans are waking up to the reality that common sense, fiscal responsibility, and genuine leadership are in short supply on the left. The GOP, by contrast, is offering a return to sanity—standing up for taxpayers, enforcing the law, and connecting with voters on the issues that matter. Sometimes, the obvious answer is the right one: it’s time to stop rewarding entitlement and start demanding accountability from those who claim to lead.
