Security has been ramped up at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, this week, especially in the aftermath of the despicable assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. The area around Fiserv Forum is on high alert following multiple security incidents that have taken place near the convention venue.
As per reports, a man was shot and killed by police officers on Tuesday afternoon in the vicinity of the convention site. The incident occurred near 14th and Vliet streets in Milwaukee, not far from where the RNC is being held. Witnesses described a chaotic scene where officers responded to a confrontation between two homeless men, culminating in the fatal shooting of one of them by law enforcement.

In another alarming incident, a man armed with an AK-47 and wearing a ski mask was apprehended by authorities as he approached the convention perimeter on Monday. The suspect, a 21-year-old who did not possess a legal concealed carry permit, was found to have a loaded weapon and a mask associated with the horror movie “Scream” in his possession. Fortunately, law enforcement acted swiftly to prevent any potential threat from escalating.

Furthermore, Republican Rep. Derrick Van Orden of Wisconsin revealed that he was assaulted while waiting to enter the event. He attributed the attack to a member of the controversial group CODEPINK, known for their disruptive and often confrontational tactics. Van Orden denounced the incident as an act of political violence and emphasized the need for accountability for such behavior.
