Homan Warns: This Action Will Land You Behind Bars

In yet another episode of weekly protests, we find our usual suspects at it again, targeting ICE facilities as if that’s going to miraculously solve their grievances like a fairy godmother waving her wand. This time, the eager protesters set their sights on Chicago, where things heated up to the point of several folks being escorted away by police officers with far less joy than a group of people being promised free pizza. Meanwhile, over in Portland, protesters went for a unique approach that seemed more like a throwback to 1980s workout videos than an actual protest. Who knew jazzercise could be a form of rebellion?

In Chicago, though, the scene was quite serious, with clashes leaving 21 officers injured. One might wonder if the protesters think that by causing a ruckus, ICE will decide to close up shop and hand out free hugs instead. Spoiler alert: they won’t. ICE is quite firm on continuing their mission no matter how many bricks get tossed their way. The protesters, who appear to confuse mayhem with meaningful change, haven’t quite achieved their desired outcome of disbanding ICE through sheer obstinance.

While Chicago had its own chaotic moment, Portland’s protest had its share of the unusual, with aerobic classes being held outside the ICE facility. It’s almost as if they were trying to sweat out their frustrations instead of channeling their energy toward more practical solutions. Or maybe they just wanted to get those heart rates up in the hopes that the more vigorous the workout, the quicker change might come.

In other news, attention is turning towards North Carolina. With whispers of Border Patrol expanding operations to major cities—including potential ventures far from actual borders—it seems they are stepping up their game to prevent illegal immigration from all angles. This move might raise eyebrows to those who only remember Border Patrol being a force patrolling strictly at the nation’s borders. Newsflash, the expansion isn’t about overstepping boundaries but rather ensuring the rules cover a broader scope where high concentration issues reside—right there in the sanctuary cities.

Meanwhile, in the sunny state of California, the world of commercial trucking has hit a bump in the road. Gavin Newsom’s administration is set to revoke thousands of commercial driver’s licenses granted to immigrants, an action apparently taken with all the finesse of an acrobatical tumble at a circus show. This move is said to be a standard procedure and nothing to do with federal nudges, though the timing seems as coincidental as finding a needle in a sewing kit. It makes one wonder why such licenses were issued in the first place if they’re now deemed unfit for the road. Perhaps next time, California might want to double-check who’s driving those multi-ton trucks on their highways.
