In a stunning display of political theater, an illegal alien took center stage at an anti-Trump rally in Washington, DC, boldly proclaiming her “undocumented” status and her queerness as badges of honor. Greisa Martinez Rosas, the executive director of United We Dream, made her entrance as if she were a rock star, proudly asserting she is “unafraid” and “unashamed.” It’s hard not to wonder if an entrance like that begs the question: what exactly is she unafraid of—ICE or the possibility of rational debate?
Rallies under the banner of “Hands Off” erupted across the nation, featuring a chorus of leftist discontent aimed squarely at President Trump and entrepreneur Elon Musk. These demonstrations, with Rosas at the forefront, seemingly served as a platform for the far-left to showcase their grievances, including everything from healthcare to education. However, one has to chuckle at the irony of calling for rights while advocating for policies that would undermine the very principles of citizenship and personal responsibility.

Rosas, hailing from Hidalgo, Mexico, made her entrance into the U.S. as a child and later claims the Dallas area as her home. Despite her illegal status, she has risen to prominence within leftist circles, asserting her narrative as if the American dream were merely a prop in her protest film. The organization she heads, representing roughly 400,000 young immigrants, seems more interested in crafting a narrative of victimhood rather than focusing on the opportunity this nation affords those who choose to play by the rules.
The “Hands Off” website, a veritable buffet of leftist outrage, accuses Trump and Musk of treating the country as if it’s theirs to plunder. One has to ask, where is the proof that these two are actually raiding the coffers? Meanwhile, their backers are out in the streets yelling for someone to “take their hands off,” apparently oblivious to the fact that the real stewards of this nation should be the ones who respect its laws and institutions.
While the chants of “no more looting” echoed through the crowds, images of protesters—many of whom benefit from systems funded by hardworking taxpayers—begged the question of who is truly stealing. The razor sharp irony of socialists crying out against billionaires while many of them embrace the welfare benefits funded by those very billionaires should not be lost on anyone. The only thing clear from this rally is that the left’s version of progress includes an aversion to reality, along with a strong disregard for the nation’s laws and customs. Truly, one must admire the audacity of their narrative, even as they trample over the ideals that made America great.
