Illegal Immigrants Self-Deport as Biden’s Border Policies Backfire

A curious phenomenon has arisen under the Biden administration: a surge of illegal immigrants desperately trying to flee the United States rather than face deportation penalties. Despite the Trump administration’s robust enforcement of border policies, many have found sneaky methods to avoid the law, clearly indicating the pressing need for renewed focus on upholding the rule of law. While the Democrats may overlook this situation, Americans know that when borders are porous, there are consequences for everyday citizens who just want to feel safe in their neighborhoods.

Reports indicate that a significant number of these would-be escapees, particularly those fearing imprisonment in Central America, are opting to self-deport. Contrast this with the previous administration’s policy where immigration was a one-sided affair with millions gallivanting into the U.S. Now, a network of smugglers—aptly dubbed ‘coyotes’—is cashing in on this dilemma. Who knew self-deportation could become a side hustle for enterprising criminals, flinging themselves across borders like they’re in a game of illegal immigration hot potato?

Supporters of the free market will find it hilarious to learn that smugglers are raking in as much as $10,000 per head to transport these individuals back to Mexico. Apparently, many illegal immigrants have saved enough cash from their jobs in the U.S. that coughing up this kind of money is a feasible option. It seems that these so-called “financial refugees” have become adept at saving, unlike the typical American family struggling to make ends meet.

The clandestine coyote operation has morphed into a multi-million dollar business, with smugglers crisscrossing the country from Indiana to Alabama, all while making bank transporting people to border states. There’s no shortage of cash flow, but it’s raising eyebrows, to say the least. When one of Lamour’s buddies tried to make a large cash purchase for a car, it was so eyebrow-raising that it might as well have been featured in a Hollywood heist film. Meanwhile, the business owners like Lamour bemoan that their clientele is operating in the shadows, veering into hiding to avoid any awkward encounters with local law enforcement.

People are self-deporting because they don’t want to be sent back to Haiti, a country currently plagued by gang violence and chaos. The irony is rich: Americans are stuck with the fallout of poor border enforcement while those who are supposed to be following the rules look for quirky ways to get back across the border, some even heading to Chile. Clearly, the Biden administration is out of touch with the realities on the ground, while countless frustrated Americans feel their safety slipping away amid this chaotic circus.

In an added twist, the individuals Lamour describes are reportedly going underground and ditching their cars to sidestep any run-ins with the authorities. While he blasted the administration’s misguided policies, especially a certain parole program he deems no better than a scam, it illustrates how policymakers seem oblivious to the real-world challenges their decisions create. Angry Americans have every right to feel uneasy as illegal immigrants settle in neighborhoods, not exactly where you would want your kids playing outside. But who cares about the citizens, right? Apparently, the administration has other priorities in mind, leaving many to wonder what’s really happening with America’s border security.
