House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) has joined the chorus of voices calling for an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. In an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Johnson pointed to the evidence produced by his colleagues Rep. James Comer (R-KY) and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), which he believes proves Biden’s involvement in shady business dealings. According to Johnson, these documents show that Biden used his position as vice president to help his son Hunter and other associates make millions from foreign companies.

Johnson stated, “The bank records don’t lie. We have the receipts on so much of this now. It’s a real problem. That’s why we’re moving forward with the impeachment inquiry. If the evidence leads us where we believe it will, Biden could be facing impeachable offenses.” Johnson emphasized that bribery and other high crimes and misdemeanors, as outlined in the Constitution, seem to be at play here.
Before the recent chaos within the House GOP, Republicans were gaining traction in connecting President Biden to his son Hunter’s questionable business activities. Hunter’s associates have claimed that he had numerous meetings with executives from foreign companies, including Ukrainian energy firm Burisma Holdings. The investigation has revealed that Biden and Hunter used fake names and burner email accounts to coordinate their response to allegations of corruption involving Burisma.
Now that Johnson is the House Speaker, he plans to give the impeachment inquiry momentum and focus attention on Biden’s family affairs. Meanwhile, Hunter is still in talks for a plea deal with the U.S. Attorney in Washington, D.C. President Biden is reportedly preoccupied with the situation and has been lashing out at aides who suggest he distance himself from his son. It seems the drama surrounding the Biden family is far from over.
The evidence against President Biden is mounting and it is clear that he has abused his power and enriched his family through questionable means. The impeachment inquiry is a necessary and important step in holding him accountable for his actions.
