This is not speculation from pundits — federal notices make clear the risk is real and must be treated as such.
Meanwhile, Immigration and Customs Enforcement has reportedly rounded up scores of Iranian nationals in recent nationwide operations, underscoring the seriousness of the threat and the need to enforce our laws. Reports indicate more than a hundred arrests and hundreds more in detention as authorities hunt people who may pose national-security risks. That enforcement action is the kind of no-nonsense response Americans expect when lives and communities are at stake.
Those arrests come on the heels of a leaked CBP memo and internal warnings that thousands of Iranian nationals crossed our southern border during the prior administration, with many reportedly released into the interior. This disastrous lapse in border security didn’t happen overnight — it was the foreseeable consequence of soft, politically motivated policies that prioritized open borders over American safety. If the warnings about sleeper cells are true, the blame for harboring potential threats lies at the feet of those who ignored basic sovereignty for political theater.
The FBI has shifted resources to major U.S. cities and is coordinating with the National Guard and Defense Department to shore up protections around likely targets, a sign that federal counterterrorism units are taking the danger seriously.
