On March 1, 2026 the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps brazenly claimed it had struck the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, but U.S. Central Command flatly denied the claim and said the Lincoln was not hit. Americans who love and respect our military deserve straight answers, not Tehran’s propaganda designed to terrorize and confuse.
Within days a dramatic video of a burning carrier exploded across social media, prompting panic among the public and cries for immediate action. Investigators and fact-checkers traced that clip back to older posts and flagged visual inconsistencies and likely AI manipulation, meaning the footage was recycled or fabricated to look like an attack on our ships.
Let’s be clear: Iran’s regime is an enemy that wages both kinetic and information warfare, and we should treat its online claims as hostile acts of influence even when they fall short of a physical strike. Conservatives should demand decisive military readiness while also calling out cowardly digital deceit — truth matters when our boys and girls are in harm’s way.
The Pentagon’s own reports confirmed casualties in the broader operations, with three U.S. service members killed and others wounded during the recent confrontations, a sober reminder of the real human cost behind these headline-grabbing propaganda pieces. We honor those lives and insist the nation give our troops every resource they need to finish the mission and come home.
Mainstream platforms have shown again they are ill-equipped or unwilling to stop viral falsehoods that put lives at risk and sow division at home. Conservatives must push for accountability from social media companies and for the federal government to protect service members from the digital fog of war that our enemies weaponize.
Americans must also demand that Congress fund our military properly and stop coddling regimes that export terror; a weak home front invites aggression abroad. If political leaders hesitate while our sailors and airmen face danger, voters should remember who stood behind the troops and who offered only excuses.
This administration and our commanders have struck back against Iranian military capacity where necessary, including targeted hits on assets that threaten shipping and regional stability, but what matters most is protecting American lives and conveying strength rather than panic. We must pursue both lethal and intelligence advantages so that Tehran’s threats remain just that — threats that never materialize into catastrophic damage to U.S. forces.
