The FBI has officially labeled the horrific events in New Orleans a terrorist attack, linking it to a 42-year-old man named Shamsud-Din Jabbar, who, inspired by the terror group ISIS, attempted to turn a joyous occasion into a scene of horror. A chilling 15 lives were lost during this premeditated act of violence that unfolded on Bourbon Street.
Before the attack, Jabbar was described by his neighbors as calm and collected—a seemingly regular fellow who went about his life without raising any eyebrows. However, unbeknownst to those around him, he had been radicalized, and in the hours before the attack, he posted alarming videos on social media. In these videos, he revealed a chilling intent to harm, stating that he originally planned to target his family and friends, indicating a severe level of delusion and distress.
Just an hour before the rampage, security footage captured Jabbar unloading containers that contained explosive devices.
