J.D. Vance Sees Through CNN’s Trap and Exposes Kamala Harris’s Identity Politics

J.D. Vance, the Republican vice-presidential nominee, demonstrated why liberals should rethink their approach to questioning when he calmly deflected an attempt by CNN to stir the race pot. The question posed to him was classic CNN: designed to evoke an emotional response while simultaneously misrepresenting conservative values. In a world already fraught with identity politics, Vance turned the tables, reminding everyone watching that Vice President Kamala Harris has built her career on a convenient brand of divisive identity and race-based rhetoric.

It was just another day for former President Donald Trump as he faced the music at the National Association of Black Journalists convention, where agenda-driven reporters swiftly attacked him. One particularly insistent reporter from ABC, Rachel Scott, seemingly had only one job—to paint Trump as a racist. But instead of presenting any substantively racist remarks from the former president, Scott attempted to string together criticisms of far-left prosecutors. It was a classic case of trying to fit a square peg into a round hole, and Trump was not having it. He called out the question, labeling it nasty and disgraceful, especially in light of the fact that he had been delayed in arriving.

Trump then turned the spotlight on Harris, showcasing her identity gymnastics as she shifts between her Black and Indian heritage depending on who pays attention to her. This isn’t just political posturing; it speaks volumes about how Harris molds her persona to fit the crowd, illustrating a textbook case of identity politics in action.

When Vance was confronted with a race-baiting question during his visit to the southern border, he responded with remarkable clarity. CNN’s Steve Contorno tried to throw a wrench into the conversation by framing his query around Vance’s biracial children, hoping to elicit a soft response. But Vance, unfazed, pointed out that all Trump did was accurately describe Harris as a chameleon, someone who shapeshifts her identity to cater to her audience. Whether she’s putting on a fake Southern accent two days prior in Georgia or altering her “heritage” based on the moment, Harris’s inconsistent identity is a concern that deserves to be discussed, not dismissed.

Rather than allowing the conversation to remain mired in identity politics, Vance redirected the dialogue towards the actual record of the Biden-Harris administration. He highlighted Harris’s contradictory stance on crime—the self-proclaimed tough-on-crime prosecutor who currently endorses open border policies. Despite claiming to support law enforcement, she has been associated with movements to defund the police, demonstrating a fundamental disconnect between her rhetoric and actions. Vance made it clear that it’s perfectly valid to question this form of political theatre, and conservatives should laud him for standing up to the kind of biased questioning that has become all too familiar.
