People on both sides of the aisle, along with their media allies, are quick to accuse the Trump administration of weaponizing the justice system. It’s like a rerun of a soap opera that everyone claims they despise but just can’t tear their eyes away from. The chorus of complaints sounds especially baffling given that these folks seem to have collective amnesia about how they treated President Trump over the past several years.
The accusations flying around claim this move was politically motivated. As if! The same people who have been throwing everything but the kitchen sink at Trump are now clutching their pearls at the idea of holding other officials accountable. The dramatic claims that the FBI is becoming the “Federal Bureau of Inquisition” would be funny if they weren’t so transparently hyperbolic. Perhaps those making these claims should look back at the constant barrage Trump faced and remember that turnabout isn’t just fair play; it’s long overdue.
Congressman Jim Jordan pointed out that these recent events are shedding light on just how deep the so-called “deep state” is willing to dive to undermine the will of the American people. They try to paint a narrative of chaos, yet conveniently gloss over the facts. Jim Comey, Adam Schiff, James Clapper, and yes, even Bolton himself have engaged in behavior aimed at sabotaging President Trump. Yet, talking heads act surprised when accountability finally catches up with these characters.

Suddenly, the left seems shocked—shocked, I tell you!—that those who have played fast and loose with national security might actually face consequences. The outcry would almost be endearing if it wasn’t so predictably self-righteous. Accountability is not a weapon; it’s a much-needed disinfectant for the political swamp that’s been festering for too long.
Finally, it’s worth mentioning that the public’s supposed enthusiasm for fairness and transparency seems suspiciously one-sided. When President Trump takes steps like revoking security clearances from those who played fast and loose with sensitive information, critics act as if the sky is falling. Yet, when these same forces attempted to undermine the democratic process from the get-go, the outrage was conveniently muted. In the end, as new leadership in federal agencies brings light to the dark corners of previous machinations, perhaps it’s time for critics to reacquaint themselves with a concept they seem to have forgotten: actions have consequences.
