In a rather predictable twist in the never-ending saga that is the left’s obsession with Donald Trump, U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon has decided to let Special Counsel Jack Smith release his report detailing the investigation into the January 6th events. This comes after Cannon, last week, hit the brakes on releasing the report. It seems, however, that the Department of Justice is still on a leash when it comes to releasing Smith’s other report, which details Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago. A hearing on that matter is set for this coming Friday, just in case anyone thought the government could take a breather.
The report released by Smith, which seems to occupy a permanent residence in the left’s treasure trove of grievances against Trump, could hit the public’s eyes as early as tomorrow. This potentially lands less than one week from Trump’s upcoming inauguration scheduled for January 20, 2025. It begs the question: Is this timing orchestrated, or simply another coincidence in a long line of “coincidences” that conspicuously target Trump?

In Cannon’s ruling, it was stated that the U.S. is against any restrictions on the release of Volume I—the one that dives into the “Election Interference Case.” Meanwhile, Volume II, which is tied up in legal hair-pulling drama around classified documents, is receiving special treatment. The DOJ doesn’t want the general public peeking into the alleged sins of Nauta and De Oliveira, but conveniently suggests giving a select group of Congress members a limited sneak peek. Just what every Congressman needs to stay occupied: reading through mountains of legal drivel while pretending it’s urgent business.
Trump, meanwhile, is as vocal as ever about this latest episode. Over the weekend, he made his disdain clear, calling out the whole scenario as a “strictly political” move. His reasoning? Jack Smith has been tossed around like a political football, and now he’s apparently authorized to write a report into what Trump calls a complete witch hunt. It’s almost comical how the left behaves when it comes to Trump—spending untold sums of taxpayer dollars on what many would argue is nothing more than politicking masquerading as justice.
With Trump’s recent comments on Truth Social, he’s not holding back on his view of the situation. He points out the absurdity of the entire process, denouncing the documents Smith has thrown together as a “joke.” Isn’t it fascinating how the same people who claim to be following the rule of law seem orchestrated to undermine anyone who doesn’t play ball with their narrative? In the end, the fervor around these reports reveals more about the desperation of those on the left than it does about Trump’s conduct. After all, one thing is clear: their fear of Trump returning to office is palpable, and they’ll do anything to keep him at bay—even if it involves a constant parade of investigations and reports.
